Buttons Pairs; Control Assembly Display - Kurzweil CUP2 Service Manual

Record button——Press the Record button, then press the Play/Stop button to begin recording a
song. To stop recording, press the Record button again. After recording, follow the prompts in
the LED display to save the song in locations U1 through U8.
Play/Stop——Select this button to start or stop the Record, Rhythm, or Play functions.
Next button——Press the Next button to select the next higher Voice, Rhythm pattern, or user
song. While using the metronome or playing a Rhythm pattern, use the Next button to increase
the tempo. The Next button is also used to tune or transpose upward.
Previous button——Press the Previous button to select the next lower Voice, Rhythm pattern, or
user song. While using the metronome or playing a Rhythm pattern, use the Previous button
to decrease the tempo. The Previous button is also used to tune or transpose downward.

Function Mode——Simultaneously press the Layer and Split buttons to enter Function mode. In
Function Mode, use the Layer or Split button to move to the next available parameter then
press the Next or Previous button to change the selected parameter.

Transpose Function——To enter the Transpose Function, simultaneously press the the Favorite 1
and Favorite 2 buttons. Use the Next or Previous button to increase or decrease the amount of
transposition.
Demo Mode——To enter Demo Mode and access one of the 51 demo songs, simultaneously
press the Record and Play/Stop buttons. Use the Next or Previous button to sequentially step
through the 51 available demo songs. Each demo song is assigned to a key on the keyboard
(A0––B4). To directly access a demo song, press the Record button then press and release its
assigned key. For a complete list of the 51 available demo songs and their corresponding keys,
consult the CUP2 User’'s Manual.
Jump Buttons——Simultaneously press the Next and Previous buttons to jump forward or
return to the default setting.
