Ethernet Connection

If the ONT is to support up to 1 Gigabit operation (10/100/1000) the cable used should be
rated CAT-6. Strip back the jacket of the subscriber Ethernet cable and connect the 4 pair
twisted wires to the RJ-45 Plug using a RJ-45 crimper. See
wiring standard. There are two RJ-45 jack holders molded into the outer enclosure (see
23). These are located to provide the correct cable length. Tie wrap all the cables at the entry
to the outer enclosure.

Inner Module Installation

This section describes how to complete installation of the inner module. It describes the
following information:

outer box
2. Place the inner module in the outer enclosure by engaging the two indentations at the top
of the inner module under the retainers in the outer enclosure.
3. Lower the bottom edge of the inner module into the outer enclosure
4. Open the door of the inner module and insert the ground screw (M5 12mm). Tighten but
do not over-tighten to provide a good ground connection.
5. Next, tighten but do not over tighten, the retaining screw.
6. Thread the Fiber Pigtail through the molded guide. Remove the Dust cover and attach to
the SC/APC (or SC/PC) connector as shown. Check that there are no bends in the fiber of
