Ball bearing for spur gear

Fit the ball bearing quickly because
it absorbs heat and begins to
expand.
: Heat clutch housing in area of
clutch drum's bearing seat
(arrows) to
about 120°C (250°F).
: Press home ball bearing (1) as
far as stop with press sleeve
1115 893 4600.
– Install brake band and brake
lever, b 5.2, b 5.3
– Install flat spring and retainer,
b 5.3

– Support the other side of the
clutch housing with a suitable
tube on the inner race of the ball
bearing.

: Position clutch drum (1) vertically
on the ball bearing and press it
home as far as stop with press
sleeve (2) 1115 893 4600 until
the groove at the other side is
fully exposed.

: Use pliers 0811 611 8200 to fit
the circlip (1) in the groove at the
other side.
– Coat teeth and ball bearing with
STIHL gear lubricant, b 13

– Coat teeth on spur gear and
pinion shaft, and ball bearing with
STIHL gear lubricant, b 13
: Hold the spur gear (1) with its
conical hub (arrow) facing up,
then push the pinion shaft (2) in
as far as stop.

: Push the pinion shaft (1) with
spur gear (2) into the ball bearing
as far as stop.
– Distribute the specified amount of
STIHL gear lubricant evenly in
the clutch housing
– the sealing faces must be free
from grease, b 2.4, b 13
: Apply sealant to clutch housing
sealing faces (arrows), b 13
