Condition
Engine does not deliver full power
or runs erratically
Engine overheating
BT 130
Cause
Secondary air seepage through
leaking gaskets or hairlne cracks in
spacer flange
Valves open too early or too long –
valve timing incorrect or valve
clearance too small
Decompression lever sticking
Muffler / spark arresting screen
carbonized
Air filter dirty
Fuel suction hose kinked or torn
Piston rings worn or broken
Insufficient cylinder cooling,
air inlets in fan housing or air slots
in shroud blocked,
cylinder cooling fins heavily soiled
Remedy
Inspect spacer flange for cracks,
replace if necessary; install new
gaskets
Set valve timing correctly or check
valve clearance and readjust if
necessary
Install new cam wheel
Clean the muffler (inlet and
exhaust), replace if necessary
Check the air filter and replace if
necessary
Fit new fuel suction hose or position
it free from kinks
Install new piston rings
Thoroughly clean all cooling air
openings and the cylinder fins
