Condition
Engine loses power during
acceleration
Engine will not idle, idle speed too
high
Engine stops while idling
BT 130
Cause
Jet on the
low speed screw L dirty
Fuel strainer dirty
Sealing ring and/or spring in
accelerator pump damaged
Throttle shutter opened too wide by
idle speed screw LA
Oil seals / crankcase leaking
Cylinder gasket leaking
Gaskets on spacer flange and
carburetor leaking, or crack in
spacer flange
Throttle shaft stiff or torsion spring
fatigued, lever does not locate
against idle speed screw LA
Setting of low speed screw L too
rich or too lean
Setting of idle speed screw LA
incorrect – throttle shutter not
opened wide enough or competely
closed
Jets or ports dirty or blocked
Tank vent faulty
Leak in fuel suction hose between
tank and carburetor
Remedy
Clean the carburetor
Clean fuel strainer and carburetor
Replace accelerator pump in
carburetor
Reset idle speed screw LA
correctly
Replace oil seals / crankcase
Perform leakage test, inspect
sealing faces and re-seal cylinder
sealng face if necessary
Perform leakage test, replace
gaskets and spacer flange if
necessary
Check torsion spring, replace if
necessary. Remove and clean the
throttle shaft if it is stiff
Reset low speed screw L correctly
Reset idle speed screw LA
correctly
Clean the carburetor
Fit new tank vent
Install a new fuel suction hose
