The VX-8GR/GE always displays the "Battery Voltage" and
"Current Time" while the VX-8GR/GE is operating in the
"Mono" band mode with the Large characters. You may change
the "Battery Voltage" display to the "Temperature" display which
indicates the current temperature inside the transceiver's case.
To change the display from the "Battery Voltage" to the "Temperature":
1. Press and hold the m key for one second to enter the Set Mode.
2. Rotate the DIAL knob to select Set Mode Item 78:
SENSOR DISPLAY.
3. Press the m key briefly to enable adjustment of
this Set Mode Item.
4. Rotate the DIAL knob to select "TEMP".
5. Press the PTT switch briefly to exit to normal op-
eration and display the sensor information on the dis-
play.
To return to the "Battery Voltage" display, just repeat the above procedure, rotating the
DIAL knob to select "DC" in step "4" above.
1) When "OFF" is selected in step "4" above, the VX-8GR displays only the
"Current Time" while the VX-8GR/GE is operating in the "Mono" band
mode with the Large characters.
2) You may monitor the "Battery Voltage" using Set Mode Item 20: DC VOLTAGE, and
the "Temperature" using Set Mode Item 79: SENSOR INFO .

The VX-8GR/GE has a 24-hour clock with a calendar which covers all dates from Janu-
ary 1, 2000 through December 31, 2099 (accuracy: ±30 sec/month).
NOTE: Before setting the CLOCK SET, set the TIME ZONE (TIME OFFSET) for
your area. Refer to page 67.
To set the clock:
1. Press and hold the m key for one second to enter the Set Mode.
2. Rotate the DIAL knob to select Set Mode Item 90: TIME
SET.
3. Press the m key briefly to enable adjustment of this Menu
Item.
4. Rotate the DIAL knob to select the "year" setting.
5. Press the M key briefly, then rotate the DIAL knob to
select the "month" setting.
6. Repeat the above step to set the "day," "day of the week,"
"hour," and "minute" selections.
