Using sub-addresses to keep your
messages private
Your BT Elements is pre-set to make all text messages
available to every handset user with all messages sent from
and received via a 'General Inbox' (terminal
number 0).
Your BT Elements phone can register up to 5 handsets.
If you have more than one handset registered to your base,
each handset has a handset number. This number is also used
as a 'terminal number' (or sub-address) and allows you to
receive personal text messages at your own handset to keep
them private from other users.
You must remember to tell people your terminal (handset)
number. They must put the relevant terminal number at the
end of your telephone number when they send you a text
message.
