4.3 Stay clear of fan blades, belts, pulleys and other parts that can cause injury.
4.4 Determine which post of the battery is grounded (connected) to the chassis. If the negative post is grounded to
the chassis (as in most vehicles), see step 4.5. If the positive post is grounded to the chassis, see step 4.6.
4.5 For a negative-grounded vehicle, connect the POSITIVE (RED) clip from the booster to the POSITIVE (POS, P, +)
ungrounded post of the battery. Connect the NEGATIVE (BLACK) clip to the vehicle chassis or engine block
away from the battery. Do not connect the clip to the carburetor, fuel lines or sheet-metal body parts. Connect to a
heavy gauge metal part of the frame or engine block.
4.6 For a positive-grounded vehicle, connect the NEGATIVE (BLACK) clip from the booster to the NEGATIVE (NEG,
N, -) ungrounded post of the battery. Connect the POSITIVE (RED) clip to the vehicle chassis or engine block
away from the battery. Do not connect the clip to the carburetor, fuel lines or sheet-metal body parts. Connect to a
heavy gauge metal part of the frame or engine block.
4.7 When disconnecting the booster, remove the clip from the vehicle chassis, then remove the clip from the battery
terminal, in that order.

6. CHARGING THE INTERNAL BATTERY OF THE BOOSTER
IMPORTANT: CHARGE IMMEDIATELY AFTER PURCHASE, AFTER EACH USE AND EVERY 30 DAYS TO
KEEP THE BOOSTER INTERNAL BATTERY FULLY CHARGED. NEVER WAIT UNTIL THE BOOSTER IS
COMPLETELY DISCHARGED BEFORE RECHARGING.
IMPORTANT
6.1 LED Indicators
TO CHECK THE INTERNAL BATTERY'S CHARGE STATUS, MAKE SURE THE WALL CHARGER IS NOT
PLUGGED INTO THE BOOSTER, THEN PRESS THE BATTERY STATUS BUTTON ON THE FRONT OF THE
BOOSTER.
The LED lights will indicate the charge level as follows:
• A red LED indicates a 50% or less charge and you should immediately recharge the booster.
• A yellow LED indicates a 50 to 75% charge. The booster may be used but should be recharged as soon as possible.
• A green LED indicates the internal battery is fully charged.
• The CHARGING (red) LED indicates the booster is charging (connected to an AC power source.)
At full charge, the CHARGED (green) LED will light.
6.2 Charging the Internal Battery using the Included Wall Charger.
IMPORTANT
1. To charge, plug the included wall charger into the charger plug on the back of the booster.
2. Confirm the AC outlet voltage matches the input voltage of the wall charger.
3. Plug the wall charger into an electrical wall outlet. Make sure to place the charger on a dry, nonflammable surface.
4. While the booster is charging, the CHARGING (red) LED will be lit. When the internal battery is fully charged, the
CHARGED (green) LED will light. Complete charging may take up to 30 hours. The booster is then ready to use.
5. The charger will automatically go into maintain mode and maintain the battery at full charge without damaging it.
