Faxing Problems

Problem
Cannot send a
document
Chapter 10
Cause
The paper you are using may
be causing the jams.
Envelopes may not be
loaded correctly.
You may need to choose
the envelope setting in
your printer driver.
Envelopes may not match
specifications for this unit.
Cause
The MultiPASS may have
overheated.
The MultiPASS may not be
set for the type of telephone
line in use (pulse/tone).
The document may not
have been fed correctly
into the MultiPASS.
Solution
Fan the paper before stacking
it in the sheet feeder. This
keeps the sheets of paper from
sticking together.
Check that the paper you are
using and your printing
environment are within the
specifications of the unit. See
Appendix A, Specifications,
for details.
Make sure the envelopes are
loaded properly. (See page
2-24.)
Make sure there are no more
than 10 envelopes in the sheet
feeder.
Make sure you select the
correct envelope size in the
Paper Setting dialog box in
your printer driver.
Envelopes must be U.S.
Commercial number 10
(9.5
4.1 inches) or
European DL envelopes
(220
110 mm).
Solution
Unplug the unit and let it
cool for several minutes. Try
sending again.
If you have a pulse line, be
sure the MultiPASS is set
for pulse dialing.
Remove the document, stack
it, and feed it into the unit
correctly (see page 1-14).
Make sure the operator panel
is closed.
