Gas Hook-Up Instructions
Natural Gas Hook-Up
The gas appliance is designed to operate with natural gas or propane gas. The piping up to the appliance
is the responsibility of the installer. A flexible metal connector of 1/2 inch male is included to simplify the
installation of the appliance. Ensure that the flexible connector is protected from damage. The gas supply
pipe must be sufficiently sized to supply the MJ/h specified on the rating plate, based on the length of
the piping run.
The Natural Gas regulator supplied with the appliance must be connected to the gas connection inlet.
Purge the gas supply line of any trapped air prior to the first firing of the appliance.

Risk of fire, explosion or asphyxiation, ensure there are no ignition sources such as sparks or open
flames.
•
The installation must be performed by a licensed gas fitter, and all connections must be leak tested
before operating the appliance.
•
The gas fitter must test the operation of the appliance before leaving.
•
All gas connections must be contained within the appliance when complete.
•
High pressure will damage the valve, disconnect gas supply piping before testing gas line at test
pressures above 1/2 psig.

Leak test all the connections by brushing on a soap and water solution. These connections can be
accessed by removing the burner. (See burner removal instructions.)
