Interpreting POST diagnostics

Introduction
This section provides an explanation of the POST diagnostic codes.
POST beep codes
If an error occurs before video initialization, POST emits beep codes that
indicate errors in hardware, software, or firmware.
A beep code is a series of separate tones, each equal in length. Record the
beep code sequence before calling Nortel Networks technical support.

Some POST beep codes are fatal and may require that
you replace the SBC. See the table below for more
information about beep codes.
Checksum the BIOS.
Verify proper refresh operation.
Test the DRAM address lines.
Test the base memory.
Test lower memory.
Verify that the copyright message is intact.
Check for any pending hardware interrupts (there should
be none).
