INSTALLATION

Chassis Installation

Prior to installing the chassis in the chassis housing, set the 8-
position DIP switch and the camera number thumbwheel
switches. Both switches are mounted on the printed circuit
board located on top of the chassis.
Refer to page 4, Setup, for instructions on Dome
Configuration and Camera Number Assignment.
1) One end of the 18-inch safety cable (provided) is connected
to the top of the AD1273 chassis at the factory. Attach the
free end of the safety cable to the clip attached to the inside
center of the chassis housing (see Figure 16).
Secure the safety cable to the chassis housing
!
before connecting the data, video, and 24VAC
power wires. The wires are not strong enough to
support the weight of the chassis and severe
damage WILL result should the chassis fall!
2) Feed the data, the video, and the 24VAC power wiring
harness through the opening in the upper corner of the
chassis housing.
!
Prior to connecting the wiring harness to the
AD1273, ensure that the incoming 24VAC power
is OFF. At power-up, the AD1273 automatically
executes a start-up test routine of the pan and tilt
motors.

3) Attach the 7-pin Plug connector to the data wires and the
24VAC power wires in the wiring harness (see page 10,
Connections).
4) Connect the 7-pin Plug connector of the wiring harness to
the 7-pin Ramp connector mounted to the chassis PCB.
5) Attach the female BNC connector to the video co-ax wire in
the wiring harness.
6) Connect the female BNC connector of the wiring harness to
the male BNC connector mounted to the chassis PCB.
7) Coil any excess wiring on top of the PCB cover to prevent
contact with the pan-drive gear.
8) Squeeze the four spring-loaded chassis mounting pin
handles together with both hands. Insert the chassis
mounting pins into the appropriate mounting pin sockets
within the chassis housing and release.
!
Ensure that the chassis mounting pins are
properly seated in the chassis mounting sockets.
See Figure 16, Detail A.
