    Finalize the CD-R/CD-RW if necessary, and attempt playback again. Tips for making your own CDs The DVA-7996 plays DVD Video, Video CD, Audio CD and has a built in MP3 decoder. The following information is designed to help you create your own music CDs (either Audio CD or MP3 encoded CD-R/RW files).

    • Disc terminology Title If titles are programmed for the DVD, these are the largest unit of division of the information recorded on the disc. Chapter Each Title may also be divided into smaller divisions called Chapters. These can be specific scenes or musical selections.

    Basic Operation POWER RESET The DVA-7996 can be operated using both the buttons on the main unit and the included remote control unit (except for some operations). The section on audio operations (excluding DVD and video CD operations) mainly describes operations using the buttons on the main unit.

    To correct this, the DVA-7996 is able to delay the audio signal to the speakers closest to the listener. This effectively creates a perception of increased distance for those speakers.

    Bass Focus The time difference between the front-rear/left-right speakers, can be adjusted at the same time. With an initial delay of 0.1 ms for each of the 0 to 99 steps, audible time correction can be done. Press the T.CORR button to select the Bass Focus mode.

    Titling Discs/Stations It is possible to title your favorite Disc's (CD, DVD, Video CD) or radio stations. You cannot input titles on MP3 discs. Press the TITLE button and select the title display mode. For details, see “Displaying the Title/Text” (page 14). Press and hold the TITLE button for at least 3 seconds.

    MODE/Rotary encoder SETUP Setting the Sound Quality of the Tuner The DVA-7996 incorporates the MAX TUNE SQ for the highest quality tuner audio. Moreover, you can choose between three settings to suit your own personal sound preferences and usage. Press and hold the SETUP button for at least 3 seconds.

    Information About DVDs Music CDs and DVDs have grooves (tracks) in which the digital data is recorded. The data is represented as microscopic pits recorded into the track – these pits are read by a laser beam to play the disc. On DVDs, the density of the tracks and pits is twice that of CDs, so DVDs can contain more data in less space.

    DTS digital audio processor (PXA-H900/PXA-H700). The DVD video software must also have a DTS sound track. The DVA-7996 has a built-in DTS 2-channel audio decoder. Analog audio outputs are available. Dolby Pro Logic Dolby Pro Logic is the technology used to decode programs encoded in Dolby Surround.
