Table 8.6.3.4.1 : Informational Exceptions Control Page
A Parameters Savable (PS) bit of 1 indicates that there is a function to save this
Mode Page in non-volatile memory. Because the data of this Mode Page is
variable, the PS bit is always 1.
The Performance Bit (Pref) bit is not supported by the autoloader and is
therefore 0.
A Disable Exception Control (Dexcpt) bit of 0 indicates that an Information
Operation is permitted. When the DExcept bit is 0, how the Information
Exception Condition is returned is determined by the contents of the Method of
Reporting Informational Exception field. When the Dexcpt bit is 1, indicates
that an Information Exception Operation is not permitted by the autoloader. The
Method of Reporting Informational Exception (MRIE) field should be
disregarded.
Test bit is cleared after a False Exception is returned.
The Log Error Bit (LogErr) bit is not supported by the autoloader and is
therefore 0.
The Method of Reporting Informational Exception (MRIE) bit indicates how
Informational Exception Conditions are returned. The autoloader supports 0h
and 4h. When an Information Exception Condition occurs yields a true CHECK
CONDITION, it causes the CHECK CONDITION set by the MRIE mode to be
discarded. When MRIE is 0h, this Method instructs the autoloader not to return
Informational Exception Conditions. When MRIE is 4h (unconditionally
generate RECOVERD ERROR), the autoloader issues the requested
Informational Exception Condition. As the response to the REQUEST SENSE
command, the Informational Exception Condition is indicated by a 01h sense
key (Recovered Error). The ASC/ASCQ field is also 5Dh/00h.
The Interval Timer field is not supported by the autoloader and is therefore 0.
