2.5 Resolving Memory-Address Conflicts
The automatic configuration program might change the memory-address space
used by some hardware and software options.
conflict with addresses defined for use through the expanded memory
specification (EMS).
(EMS memory is used only in the DOS environment.)
If a memory conflict exists, one or more of the following could occur:
The system cannot load the operating system.
The system is disabled.
An application does not operate or it returns an error.
Screen messages indicate that a memory-address conflict exits.
You can resolve these conflicts in one of the following ways:
Change the software configuration (primary method).
Change the system configuration (alternative method).
