This section provides an overview of the basic tasks that are required to install the robot.

ation.
Refer to Appendix on page 145 for details on transporting the robot.

3.2 Mounting a Viper Robot

This section describes the mounting procedure for the Viper robot.

Mounting Surface

Mount the Viper robot on a smooth, flat surface that is rigid enough to prevent vibration and
flexing during robot operation. OMRON recommends a 25 mm thick steel plate mounted to a
21861-000 Rev A
WARNING: Robot installation must be completed before optional equipment
can be installed.
Task
Mount the robot.
Install the Front Panel.
Install user-supplied safety equip-
ment.
Set the EtherCAT Node Address.
Make robot system cable con-
nections.
Install any robot optional hard-
ware.
Verify the installation.
WARNING: PERSONAL INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE RISK
Only allow qualified service personnel to install or service the robot.
