Condensate Management

Furnace condensate is acidic and may discolor roofing materials. It is the
responsibility of the end user or contractor to determine if the condensate
will damage roofing material. If applicable codes or regulations require, the
condensate must be directed or routed to a field supplied and installed drain
system.
Condensate may freeze if it is not properly piped to a drain or provided with
some form of heat protection. Frozen drain lines may cause accumulation
of condensate inside the heat exchanger which may result in water
intrusion, and damage to the rooftop equipment and the facility.
All units are equipped with a 3/4" NPT stainless steel
condensate drain pipe projecting from the vestibule side of
the furnace section, below the fuel gas inlet. Note that the
condensate drain pipe nipple is the lower of the two pipe
nipples, reference

onto the roof may be acceptable in some jurisdictions; it is the
responsibility of the end user or contractor to determine if the
condensate will damage roofing material. If applicable codes
or regulations require, condensate must be routed to a field
supplied and installed drain system.

NOTICE
CAUTION

Operations

Read carefully. Overheating or failure of the gas supply to shut off can
cause equipment damage, severe personal injury, or death. Turn off the
manual gas valve to the appliance before shutting off the electrical supply.
Read carefully. Testing for gas leaks with an open flame can cause an
explosion or fire resulting in property damage, personal injury, or death.
Use a commercially available soap solution made specificcally for the
detection of leaks to check all connections.
Hot Surface Hazard.
If the furnace has been operating before/prior to service, please use
caution. Allow chimney flue, gas heat exchanger, and combustion manifold
to cool before servicing. Failure to follow may personal injury.
Start-Up Responsibility
The start-up organization is responsible for determining that
the furnace, as installed and as applied, will operate within the
limits specified on the furnace rating plate.
1. The furnace must not operate at insufficient airflow or
temperature rise greater than specified (refer to
21 on page 90
and
systems it must be determined that the furnace will not
be operated if or when system airflow is reduced below
the specified minimum airflow.
2. It must be established that the gas supply is within the
proper pressure range (refer to
and
Table
22).
Start-up and service of this equipment must be
performed by trained and qualified technicians. It is highly
recommended that the initial start-up and future service be
performed by Daikin trained technicians who are familiar with
working on live equipment. A representative of the owner or the
operator of the equipment should be present during start-up to
receive instructions in the operation, care and adjustment of
the unit.
