WARNING
If a metal cutting attachment is mounted, STIHL
recommends attaching an appropriate transport
guard (special accessory) to help reduce the risk of cut
injuries from inadvertent contact. Remove the transport
guard before starting work.
When transporting the trimmer / brushcutter:
► When transporting the trimmer / brushcutter by hand, hold
the drive tube so that the unit remains parallel to the
ground. Keep the cutting attachment pointing backwards,
opposite the direction in which you are walking.
► When transporting the trimmer / brushcutter in a vehicle,
secure and position it to prevent turnover, impact and
damage.

20.1 Storing the Power Tool

WARNING
Store the trimmer / brushcutter indoors in a dry, secure place
that is inaccessible to children and other unauthorized
users, @ 6. Improper storage can result in unauthorized
use and damage to the trimmer / brushcutter that can
increase the risk of severe personal injury and property
damage, @ 6.

WARNING
To reduce the risk of unintended activation, never store the
trimmer with the connecting cord inserted. Always remove
the connecting cord before storing.
When storing the trimmer / brushcutter:
► Remove, clean and inspect the cutting attachment. Coat
metal cutting attachments with corrosion inhibitor.
► Clean the trimmer / brushcutter, @ 21.1.
► Store the trimmer / brushcutter indoors in a dry and secure
location, out of the reach of children and other
unauthorized persons.

21 Cleaning

21.1 Cleaning the Power Tool

WARNING
To reduce the risk of personal injury from unintended
activation, remove the connecting cord before carrying out
any cleaning work, @ 6. Users of this trimmer should carry
out only the cleaning described in this manual.
To clean the trimmer / brushcutter:
► Clean plastic components with a slightly dampened cloth.
Do not use detergents or solvents. They may damage the
polymer components.
► Do not use a pressure washer to clean the unit or spray it
with water or other liquids.
► Keep the socket free from foreign matter and clean as
necessary with a soft brush or soft, dry cloth.
NOTICE
Never spray the power tool with water. Spraying it with a
stream of water could result in damage to the electronics
and other systems.
