• Keep the DIP switch OSEN in the OFF position. Setting it to ON can cause trouble or mal-
function.
• Set all the nodes connected to the network to the same communication rate.
Different communication rates among the nodes will cause a slave device error or DN311
error, and disable to start communication. For slave device communication rate setting, refer
to the manuals concerned.
Do not change the communication rate while the S controller power is on.
• Otherwise, a communication rate setting error will occur. Particularly, do not change the
communication rate while transmission to a slave device is under way.
To reset, either issue a reset request or turn power back on again after correctly setting the
DIP switches.

DIP switches.
Usage Recommendations
• If the DIP switch BUSOFF is set to OFF, transmission will restart automatically when a busoff
occurs. Unless the cause of the DN311's busoff (cause of communication error) is remedied,
however, a busoff may occur again.
• If both DIP switches DR0 and DR1 are set to ON, a communication rate setting error will
occur when the S controller is switched on.
• The LED MS blinks red.
• The 7-segment LED displays F7 and the local node address alternately
To reset, either issue a reset request or turn power back on again after correctly setting the
DIP switches.
• Use a small flat-tip screwdriver for changing the DIP switch values.
