External heating element control
It is possible to optionally control the heating element in parallel
to the "heating element" switch on the HW HP operating panel
via an external switch (e.g. timer). A floating contact on the exter-
nal switchgear is required for this type of connection. Further-
more, an additional cable (min. 2 x 1.0 mm
cross-section 10 mm) must be led into the device and attached to
terminals 7 and 8 on the X1 terminal strip.

6.1 Hot Water System

ATTENTION!
Only operate the HW HP when it is filled with water!
Hot water system requirements
The following materials could be used in the consumer's hot
water system:
Copper
Stainless steel
Brass
Plastic
Depending on the materials used in the hot water system (cus-
tomer installation), material incompatibility may lead to corrosion
damage. This especially applies to zinc-plated materials and ma-
terials containing aluminium. If there is a risk of water contamina-
tion during operation, it may be necessary to install a filter.
Hot water system start-up
All installations for the water circuit, the air circuit as well as
all electrical installations must have been carried out cor-
rectly and fully completed
The hot water system must be filled via an external connec-
tion.
De-aerate the hot water system (open hot water taps at the
highest extraction points until there are no more traces of
air).
Check the entire hot water system for leaks.
Establish supply voltage.
Switch on the "heat pump" switch (illustration) and the slide
switch on the remote control (illustration).
A certain heat-up time is necessary before the maximum
water temperature is reached (see Appendix Technical
Data)
Domestic hot water can be prepared via a second heat
generator (HW HP with internal heat exchanger only) by
switching on the heat exchanger loading pump (illustration)
(provided that the required external electrical connection
has been established).

Temperature indicator
The thermometer sensor (analogue remote-reading ther-
mometer with trend indicator) measures the hot water tem-
perature in the upper part of the hot water cylinder. The indi-
cator is located on the control panel.
The switch position "I" enables a second heat generator to be connected
If the switch is in the "I" position, the heating element is permanently switched
on. In the " " position, the heating element switches to automatic operation

heat pump operation "ON"

er. The "heat exchanger" switch is not required for HW HPs without internal
heat exchangers.
