To reduce the risk of fire and burn
injury, use only spark plugs
authorized by STIHL. Always press
spark plug boot (2) snugly onto
spark plug terminal (1) of the proper
size. (Note: If boot has detachable
SAE adapter nut, it must be
attached.)
A loose connection between spark
plug boot and ignition wire
connector in the boot may create
arcing that could ignite combustible
fumes and cause a fire.

Lubricating the
Gearbox

Use STIHL gear lubricant for hedge
trimmers** to lubricate the blade drive
gear after about every 25 hours of
operation.
:
Unscrew the filler plug (1).
:
Screw the tube of grease (2) into the
filler hole.
:
Sqeeze about 20g (3/4 oz) grease
into the gearbox.
:
Refit the filler plug and tighten it
down firmly.

Use STIHL gear lubricant for
brushcutters** to lubricate the angle
drive after about every 25 hours of
operation.

Unscrew the filler plug (3).
:
If no grease can be seen on the
inside of the filler plug, screw the
tube of grease (4) into the filler hole.

Squeeze 5 - 10g (about 1/4 oz)
grease into the gearbox.
Do not not completely fill the
gearbox with grease.
:
Refit the filler plug and tighten it
down firmly.
