Before you start work, examine the
hedge area for stones, fence wire, metal
or other solid objects which could
damage the cutter blades.
When working close the ground, make
sure that no sand, grit or stones get
between the cutter blades.

Warning!
When cutting the top of a taller hedge,
when visibility is obstructed check back-
side of the hedge frequently for
bystanders, animals and obstructions.
Danger!
The hedge cutter is not
insulated against electric
shock. To reduce the risk
of electrocution, never
operate the hedge cutter in the vicinity of
any wires or cables (power, etc.) which
may be carrying electric current.
Operating instructions
Do not cut any material other than
hedges and shrubs. The cutting tools
may be used only for the operations
described in your manual.

Warning!
To reduce the risk of injury from loss of
control, always hold your hedge cutter
firmly with both hands while you are
working. Your right hand should grip the
rear handle. This also applies to left-
handers. Wrap your fingers tightly
around the front and rear handles.

Warning!
Never attempt to operate
any hedge cutter with one
hand. Loss of control of
the hedge cutter can
result in serious or fatal
injury. To avoid the risk of
serious injury, never teach the moving
cutter blades.

Always work calmly and carefully, stay
alert so as not to endanger others. If the
cutter blades become jammed by thick
branches or any other obstruction,
switch off the engine immediately before
attempting to free the blades.

Warning!
On units with an adjustable cutter bar:
Always shut off the engine before
making any adjustments. To reduce the
risk of injury, never touch the blades
while making adjustments (fit the
scabbard over the blades).

Warning!
The gearbox becomes hot in operation.
To reduce the risk of burn injury, do not
touch the gearbox housing.

Warning!
To reduce the risk of injury from loss of
control, never work on a ladder, in a tree
or any other insecure support.

Warning!
The cutter blades tend to run on for a
short period after the throttle trigger is
released (flywheel effect).
