REM OVING THE LOWER BRACKET
1. Stand the m otorcycle on a level surface.

Securely support the motorcycle so that
there is no danger of it falling over.
2. Rem ove:
• low er ring nut 1
(w ith the special tool 2)

CHECKING THE STEERING HEAD

1. Wash:
• bearing balls
• bearing races
Recommended cleaning solvent
Kerosine
2. Check:
• bearing balls 1
• bearing races 2
Dam age/pitting → Replace.
3. Replace:
• bearing balls
• bearing races
a. Rem ove the bearing races from the
steering head pipe w ith a long rod 1
and ham m er.
