DIAGNOSIS AND MAINTENANCE
PROBABLE CAUSE
Worn
nozzle.
Belt slippage.
Inlet strainer clogged or improper size.
Worn plunger cups. Abrasives in
pumped fluid or severe cavitation.
Inadequate water supply.
Fouled or dirty inlet or discharge valves
Worn inlet or discharge valves.
Leaky discharge hose.
the inlet plumbing.
Restricted inlet or air entering
Inlet restriction and/or air leaks.
Damaged cup or stuck inlet or
discharge valve.
Worn inlet manifold seals.
Warped manifold.
caused by improper spaced
Loose cylinders. Cylinder motion
discharge manifold.
Worn inlet manifold seals.
Leaking sleeve O-ring.
Worn crankcase piston rod seals.
Worn crankcase seal or improperly
installed oil seal retainer packing.
Bad bearing.
Worn main ball bearing from
excessive tension to drive belt.
May be caused by humid air condens-
ing into water inside the crankcase.
and/or piston rod sleeve O-ring.
Leakage of manifold inlet seals
Worn crankcase piston rod seals.
SOLUTION
Replace nozzle, of proper size.
Tighten or replace; use correct belt
Clean. Check more frequently
Install proper filter
Clean inlet and discharge valve assemblies.
discharge hose.
Replace worn valves, valve seats and/or
Proper size inlet plumbing check for airtight
seal.
foreign material, replace worn valves
Replace worn cup or cups, clean out
Replace worn seals.
Replace manifold.
Snug up external nuts on manifold studs
three cylinders. Then tighten inboard jam
making sure manifold is bonomed on all
nuts on both manifold studs.
Install new seals. If piston rod sleeves are
scored, replace sleeves and sleeve O-ring.
O-rings.

Replace crankcase piston rod seals

Remove
oil
seal retainer and replace
damaged gasket and/or seals.
Replace bearing.
Replace ball bearing. Properly tension belt.
Check shaft shims.
Change oil every month or

Replace seals, sleeve and O-rings.
Replace the crankcase piston rod seals.
