2 CONNECTING OPTIONAL DEVICES
2.11.3 Basic Configuration for
CIM-1000K-20
Connect CIM-1000K-20 to a PC, and then configure
CIM-1000K-20 by using a terminal program.
CIM-Cable provided by Cimarron Technologies is
required to connect CIM-1000K-20 to a PC. Contact
Cimarron Technologies for details of CIM-Cable.
This section describes how to configure CIM-1000K-
20 by using HyperTerminal (the terminal program
provided with Windows). Refer to Windows' help
document for details of HyperTerminal.
Note: The programming method for CIM-1000K-20 and the menu
windows may vary depending on the firmware version of
CIM-1000K-20. Contact Cimarron Technologies for details.
Connecting CIM-1000K-20 to a PC
1. Connect the optional CIM-Cable to CIM-1000K-
20 as shown in the figure.

2. Connect the 9-pin connector of the CIM-Cable
to a serial port (COM1) on the PC.

Running the Terminal Program
1. Select the "Start" button > "Programs" ("All
Programs" in Windows XP) > "Accessories" >
"Communications" > "HyperTerminal".
The Connection Description window appears.
2. Enter a name in the Name edit box, and then
click the "OK" button.
The Connect To window appears.
3. Select COM1 from the Connect using
dropdown list, and then click the "OK" button.
The COM1 Properties window appears.
Functions should be configured as below.

4. Click the "OK" button.
The HyperTerminal window appears.
Press the [$], [c], [i] and [m] keys on the
keypad to start communication with
CIM-1000K-20.
