Connect the dedicated AC adapter to the CU
(power inlet connector) and wall socket.

The backup battery backs up the internal memory and calendar clock, and first charges when

Charging for the backup battery takes approximately 2 days.
Do not remove the battery from the BHT for at least 2 days when using the BHT for the first time or
after unused long periods.

The CU-AU1-14 does not charge the battery while the host computer is suspended
if powered via a USB. The CU starts charging again when resuming from the
suspend mode. Use a dedicated AC adapter to supply power to avoid influence of
the host computer suspension. Suspend mode is a power saving function to pause
the computer while not in use.
Do not remove the BHT from the CU at least 3 hours when using the BHT for the
first time or after unused long periods.
The LED illuminates in red
when charging begins.
