resting on the seat backrest of the rear
seat.
O For certain child restraint systems in weight
category II or III, there may be restrictions in
the maximum size setting, e.g. due to possi‐
ble contact with the roof.
O The child restraint system must not be put
under strain between the roof and the seat
cushion and/or be fitted facing the wrong
direction. Where possible, adjust the seat
cushion inclination accordingly.
O The child restraint system must not be put
under strain by the head restraints. Adjust
the head restraints accordingly.
O Make sure that the child's feet do not touch
the front seat. If necessary, move the front
seat forward slightly.
Vehicles with seat belt buckle extenders:
when securing a child in a child restraint system
on a rear seat, observe the following notes:
Make sure that the seat belt is fastened on
R
the child restraint system according to the
manufacturer's installation instructions for
the child restraint system.
For child restraint systems with a belt clamp:
R
engage the seat belt tongue into the seat belt
buckle before you tighten the seat belt using
the belt clamp.
Fit the child restraint system.

The entire base of the child restraint system
must always rest on the sitting surface of the
rear seat.
Always make sure that the shoulder belt
#
strap is correctly routed from the seat belt
outlet of the vehicle to the shoulder belt
guide on the child restraint system.
The shoulder belt strap must be routed for‐
wards and downwards from the seat belt out‐
let.
Notes on vehicles without automatic front
passenger front airbag shutoff
Sticker visible when the front passenger door
is open
Vehicles without automatic front passenger front
airbag shutoff have a special sticker affixed to
the side of the cockpit on the front passenger
side.
