Avoid getting grease, oil, or dirt on the disc
or pad surfaces. Any contamination can
cause poor brake performance or rapid pad
wear after reassembly.
Do not depress the brake lever when
the wheel is off the vehicle. The caliper
pistons will be forced out of the cylinders
with subsequent loss of brake fluid. If this
occurs, servicing of the brake system will
be necessary. visit your nearest Honda
dealer for this service.
Front Wheel Installation
1. Install the side collars into the left and
right side wheel hub.
2. Position the wheel between the fork legs
and insert the front axle shaft from the
left side, through the right fork leg and
wheel hub.
To avoid damaging the brake pads while
installing the wheel, carefully fit the
brake disc between the pads.
3. Tighten the front axle nut to the
specified torque.

Front axle nut torque:
59 N·m (6.0 kgf·m , 44 lbf·ft)
4. Tighten the axle pinch bolt on the left
fork leg to the specified torque.
Axle pinch bolt torque:
22 N·m (2.2 kgf·m , 16 lbf·ft)
5. After installing the wheel, apply the
brake several times and then check if
the wheel rotates freely. Recheck the
wheel if the brake drags or if the wheel
does not rotate freely.
If a torque wrench is not used for
installation,
visit
dealer as soon as possible to verify proper
assembly. Improper assembly may reduce
braking efficiency.
