Settings
Screen saver: Manage the Screen saver function, which can display weather, clock,
•
colors or photos when the phone is docked or charging.
• Ambient display: Tap to enable/disable this feature, which causes the screen to wake
when you receive notifications.
Indicator light: Flash the indicator light to notify you of charging, low battery,
•
incoming call/message, or other notifications.

Sound

Adjust different types of volume (see Personalizing – Adjusting Volumes), toggle
notification mode (see Personalizing – Switching to Vibration or Silent (Do Not Disturb)
Mode), control Do not disturb mode (see Personalizing – Settings Silent (Do Not Disturb)
Mode Preferences), set ringtone and default notification/alarm sound (see Personalizing –
Changing Ringtone, Notification or Alarm Sound), select system sounds (see Personalizing
– Turning System Sounds On/Off), and set emergency alerts.

Storage

Check memory information for the internal phone storage and the microSDXC card (if
one is installed).
• Saving location setting: Select Phone or SD card as the default location for new
data, such as photos captured and voice recorded.
• Internal shared storage: Get a detailed breakdown of space usage by type. Tap a
data type to see more information or delete the files you do not need.
Portable storage: Safely mount, unmount/eject, and format your microSDXC card.

Security & Location
Configure options that help keep your phone and data safe, and manage location
services, which help your phone and apps determine your location.
• Google Play Protect: Allow Google to regularly check your apps and device for
harmful behavior and warn you about any detected potential harm. Switch on Scan
device for security threats to enable this feature. To send unknown apps to Google
for better detection, switch on Improve harmful app detection.
• Find My Device: Locate, lock, or wipe your lost device remotely. The lost device must
be signed in to a Google account.
• Security update: Check for security update for your system.
• Screen lock: Lock the screen with swipe, pattern, PIN, or password (see Personalizing
– Protecting Your Phone With Screen Locks).
Tap beside Screen lock to set the following options.
- Make pattern visible: Show the pattern as you draw it. This option is available
when unlock pattern is set.
Automatically lock: Set the time needed for the lock protection to be activated

after the screen turns off. This option is available when unlock pattern, PIN, or
password is set.
Power button instantly locks: Lock protection is activated immediately when
-
you press the Power/Lock Key. This option is available when unlock pattern, PIN,
or password is set.
Lock screen message: Set the text to be displayed on the lock screen.

Lock screen preferences: Set notification display preference and message on the
•
lock screen.
• Smart Lock: Keep the phone unlocked when connected to trusted devices, in trusted
places, when recognizing a trusted voice, or while being held or carried.
