Messages

You can use Messages to exchange text messages (SMS) and multimedia messages (MMS).

Opening the Messaging Screen

Press the Home Key >
.
The Messages screen opens, where you can create a new message, search for messages,
or open an ongoing message thread.
Tap
to write a new text or multimedia message.
Tap
to search for a message using keywords.
Tap an existing message thread to open the conversation.

Sending a Message

1. On the Messages screen, tap
.
2. Add recipients in one of the following ways:
Tap the To field and manually enter the recipient's number or the contact name.
You can tap
to enter numbers with a dialpad. If the phone presents a few
suggestions, tap the one you want to add.
Select recipients from your contacts.
To add more recipients for a group conversation, tap
and then tap
.
3. Tap the text field and enter the content of your text message.
4. If you want to send a multimedia message, tap
audio, or location information to the message. See Messaging - Adding an Attachment.

NOTES:
You can also include email addresses as recipients for multimedia messages.
Do not add an attachment or use group conversation if you want to send a text
message. Otherwise you may be charged for a multimedia message.

Adding an Attachment

To add stickers, tap
.
To add a photo, tap
. Tap
to snap a photo. Swipe up on the mini view screen to
enlarge it to full size; swipe down to return to the mini view screen.

To add a video, tap
to start recording a video and tap
To add images or videos, tap
. Tap a photo or video thumbnail or swipe up to
select more images and videos. You can also tap
or videos.
To add a voice recording, tap
. Press and hold
To share your location to the message recipient, tap
NOTE: You can tap
at the corner of an attachment to remove it from the message.

Replying to a Message

Messages you receive are appended to existing threads of the same number. If the new
message comes from a new number, a new thread is created.
1. On the Messages screen, tap the thread that has the message you want to reply to.
2. Type your reply in the text box at the bottom. You can tap
an MMS.
3. Tap
