WARNING
• We recommend that service clearances be considered when locating a suitable area for the unit.
• The boiler must not be installed on carpeting.
• Keep the boiler area clear and free from flammable vapors and liquid.
3.1

SELECTING THE BOILER LOCATION

1.
Check the installation area for nearby connections to:
• System water piping
• Venting connections
• Gas supply piping
• Electrical power
2.
Inspect the area around the boiler; remove any combustible materials, gasoline and other flammable liquids.
3.
Ensure the Boiler's gas control system components are protected from dripping or spraying water.
WARNING
Failure to keep boiler area clear and free of combustible materials, gasoline as well as other flammable liquids and
vapors can result in severe personal injury, death or substantial property damage.
3.2

POSITIONING THE BOILER

• Decide the position of the boiler taking into account the clearances required for servicing and the flue terminal position.
WARNING
Remove any combustible materials, gasoline and other flammable liquids away from the hot water pipes.
• Tape the template to the wall, ensure it is level and upright, and mark the position of the holes for the hanger bolts and plumbing
connections. If rear exit flue is to be used, mark the position of the hole for the flue.
• If the unit will be terminating horizontally, continue to mark the horizontal center line of the flue across the wall to the side wall,
then along the side wall ensuring the lines are level. This will give the position of the centre of the hole for the flue.
• Cut the 5 5/16" / 135.00 mm diameter hole in the wall for the concentric flue for model 1.70 and 6 11/16" / 170.00 mm diameter
hole in the wall for the concentric flue for model 1.110.
3.3

FIT THE BOILER

• Lift the boiler and hang it on the wall.
• Adjust the position of the boiler; ensuring it is level.
3.4

FLUSHING THE SYSTEM

The installation must be cleaned and flushed according to good installation practices. The warranty may become null and void if
the installation is not flushed and/or the water quality is inadequate. It is mandatory to check the water quality of a central heating
installation semi-annually, particularly if it is topped up regularly. If the water has been treated, the supplier of the water treatment
product can be consulted. The user of the installation is responsible for ensuring good water quality at all times. If the user wishes
to achieve this water quality with the aid of a water treatment system, this will also be his/her responsibility.
• You must thoroughly flush the system, without boiler connected, to remove sediment. The high-efficiency heat exchanger can
be damaged by build-up or corrosion due to sediment.
Note:
It is recommended that a water treatment product be utilized for sediment removal.
• For zoned systems, flush each zone separately through a purge valve. If purge valves and isolation valves are not already
installed, install them to properly clean the system.
• Flush system until water runs clean and you are sure piping is free of sediment.
