Installing the RTC Battery
WARNING: If you replace the RTC battery, be sure to use only the same model bat-
tery or an equivalent battery recommended by Toshiba. Installation of the wrong
battery can cause the battery to explode.
To install the T4900CT's RTC battery follow the steps below and refer to figures 4-34 and 4-
35.
1. Connect the RTC battery cable to the PCMCIA slot 2 connector board (figure
4-35).
2. Seat the PCMCIA slot 2 connector board with the RTC battery attached, then
connect the two PCMCIA slot 2 connectors to the lower system board (figure
4-34).
3. Secure the PCMCIA slot 2 connector board with two M2x6 screws, then set the
RTC battery in place (figure 4-34).
4. Secure the cover with two M2.5x4 screws (figure 4-34).
5. Install the base assembly, power supply board, upper system board, display assem-
bly, backup battery and microphone, status indicator panel, keyboard, top cover,
HDD, optional PCMCIA cards, optional memory card, and battery pack as de-
scribed in sections 4.12 back through 4.2.
