When you carry the keyless remote, you can
lock/unlock the doors and open the tailgate.
You can lock/unlock the doors within a radius
of about 80 cm (32 inches) of the outside door
handle.
You can open the tailgate within about 80 cm
(32 inches) radius from the tailgate release
button.

Locking the doors and tailgate

Press the door lock button on the front door
or the tailgate.

Some exterior lights and indicators flash
three times; all the doors and tailgate
lock and the security system sets.

Models with keyless access system
Right-hand drive type
You cannot lock any doors from the outside when
the keyless remote is inside the vehicle, and the
beeper sounds. If you want to lock a door while the
remote is still in the vehicle, do any of the following
four times:
Press the lock button on the keyless remote.
Turn the key in the cylinder to lock.
Press the door lock button on the door handle or
the tailgate.
Models with keyless access system
You can lock or unlock doors using the remote
transmitter or keyless access system only when the
power mode is in VEHICLE OFF.
1Using the Keyless Access System
Do not leave the keyless remote in the vehicle
when you get out. Carry it with you.
Even if you are not carrying the keyless remote, you
can lock/unlock the doors while someone else with
the remote is within range.
If you grip a front door handle wearing gloves, the
door sensor may be slow to respond or may not
respond by unlocking the doors.
The door may be unlocked if the door handle is
covered with water in heavy rain or in a carwash if
the keyless remote is within range.
