NOTE:
9 Apply engine oil to the pistons, piston rings
and bearings before installation.
9 Align the dowels of the bearings with the
slot 1 on the cylinder block.
9 Align the rings 2 with the grooves in the
cylinder block.
2. Apply sealant to the mating surface of the
crankcase.
NOTE:
Do not get any sealant on the crankshaft jour-
nals.

3. Install the crankcase onto the cylinder
block, and then tighten the crankcase
bolts to the specified torques in two
stages and in the sequence shown.
NOTE:
Apply engine oil to the crankcase bolts before
installation.
Crankcase bolt (M8):
1st:
10 N·m (1.0 kgf·m, 7.2 ft·lb)
2nd:
20 N·m (2.0 kgf·m, 15 ft·lb)
Crankcase bolt (M10):
1st:
20 N·m (2.0 kgf·m, 15 ft·lb)
2nd:
40 N·m (4.0 kgf·m, 29.5 ft·lb)
4. Install the oil seal housing.
