NOTE: The hard drive spare part kit does not include the hard drive bracket, hard drive cable, or screws.
The hard drive bracket, hard drive cable, and screws are included in the Hard Drive Hardware Kit, spare part
number 906770-001.
Description
500-GB, 5400-rpm, SATA, 7.0-mm hard drive
Before removing the hard drive, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.

Remove the hard drive:
1. Release the zero insertion force (ZIF) connector (1) to which the hard drive cable is connected, and then
disconnect the hard drive cable from the system board.
2. Remove the four Phillips PM2.0×3.3 screws (2) that secure the hard drive to the keyboard/top cover.
3. Remove the hard drive (3).
4. If it is necessary to replace the hard drive cable, disconnect the cable (1) from the hard drive.
