Customizing Web Scanning Settings

The STM150 also scans Web or HTTP traffic for malicious content and performs the specified
action, including Delete File, Clean, Audit or Streaming.
Figure 4-7
To configure Web security, go to Web Security > Policy to select which protocols to scan.
Note: Scanning all protocols enhances network security, but it may affect the
performance of STM150. For an optimum balance between security and
performance, only enable scanning of the most commonly used services on your
network. For example, you can scan FTP and HTTP, but not HTTPS (if this last
services is not often scanned).
If these services use ports other than the standard service ports (for example, port 80 for HTTP),
enter these non-standard ports in under Ports to Scan. For example, if the HTTP service on your
network uses both port 80 and port 8080, enter both port numbers. This will ensure that STM150
will scan traffic that is sent and received through a non-standard HTTP port.
