Checking for leaks
Carry out a thorough visual inspection of the heat pump and
tank module and check for water leaks.

Pump speed
Make sure the pump speed is set into position III. Check if the
water flow is within range (between 5 and 6 l/min.). Refer to
"Displaying actual temperatures and actual water flow" on
page 23
how to access these values.

Drain connection
Make sure no dirt is blocking the drain connection at the back of
the unit.

12.3. Descaling

Depending on the water quality and set temperature, scale can
deposit on the heat exchanger inside the heat pump module and can
restrict heat transfer. If descaling of the heat exchanger is requested
a warning message will apear on the remote controller.

A first message will appear when the water flow drops below
3 l/min. The unit will continue to work but an indication (error
code 7E) is already given.
-
If the water flow continues to drop below 1 l/min., the unit will
stop and error code 7H will be shown. The system must be
restarted manually and corrective action must be taken.
DANGER
When using means for descaling, it must be ensured that
the water quality remains compliant with the requirements
stated in
"Water quality" on page
For descaling details refer to the service manual.
12.4. Draining
Follow the next steps to drain the domestic hot water tank:

Switch off the power supply.

Close the field installed cold water supply valve.

Open the hot water taps.

Open the field installed drain valve.

13. T
ROUBLESHOOTING
This section provides useful information for diagnosing and correcting
certain troubles which may occur in the unit.
This troubleshooting and related corrective actions may only be
carried out by your local Daikin technician.

13.1. General guidelines

Before starting the troubleshooting procedure, carry out a thorough
visual inspection of the unit and look for obvious defects such as
loose connections or defective wiring.
DANGER: Electric shock
When carrying out an inspection on the switch box of the
unit, always make sure that the main switch of the unit is
switched off.
When a safety device was activated, stop the unit and find out why
the safety device was activated before resetting it. Under no
circumstances safety devices may be bridged or changed to a value
other than the factory setting. If the cause of the problem can not be
found, call your local dealer
.

13.2. Opening the unit

13.3. General symptoms

Symptom 1: The unit is turned on (Y LED is lit) but the unit is not
heating as expected

OSSIBLE CAUSES
The temperature setting is not
correct.
The water flow is too low.
Capacity shortage
Symptom 2: Pump is making noise (cavitation)

There is air in the system.
Water pressure at pump inlet is too
low.
Symptom 3: The water pressure relief valve opens

The field installed expansion vessel
is broken.

ORRECTIVE ACTION
Check the controller set point.
• Check that all shut-off valves of the
water circuit are completely open.
• Make sure there is no air in the
system (purge air).
• Make sure that the field installed
expansion vessel is not broken.
Check if the unit is not installed in a
too hot location (>35°C) or a too cold
location (<2°C).

Purge air.
Check that the setting of the
pressure of the field installed
pressure reducing valve is correct.

Replace the expansion vessel.
