If you have any questions or problems not covered below, please consult your nearest Sony
dealer.
The S/a switch does not function.
The power is turned on but the DVD-
VCR does not operate.
The clock has stopped and 'I--:--"
appears in the display window.
The remote commander does not
function.
The tracking meter does not appear
on the screen.
You c~mnot control other TVs.
rhere is no picture/picture noise
tppears.
Even though you set the aspect ratio
In "TV Type" of the "SCREEN
SETUP" menu the picture does not
fill the screen.
l%ere is no picture from your VCR
connected to the LINE IN jacks.
0 Connect the AC power cord securely.
0 Moisture condensation has occurred. Turn the power off,
unplug the AC power cord and leave the DVD-VCR to
dry for over three hours.
The clock stops if the DVD-VCR is disconnected from
the walill outlet. Reset the clock (and timer).
Make sure you are pointing the remote commander at the
remote sensor on the DYD-VCR.
Replace all the batteries in the remote commander with
new ones if they are weak.
e Make sure the Ty / DVDVIDEQ
switch is set correctly.
e Select correctly VIDEO or DVD with the SELECT DVW
VIDEO button.
* The recording condition of the tape is very poor and
tracking cannot be adjusted.
- See your TV's code number. The code number may
change when you replace the batteries of the remote
commander.
* Reconnect the connecting cord securely.
0 The connecting cords are damaged.
0 Check the connection to your TV (page 14) and switch
the input selector on your TV so that the signal from the
pkiyer appears on the TV screen.
* The disc is dirty or flawed.
Q If the picture output from
your
player goes through your
VCR to get to your TV or if you are connected to a
combination TV/VIDEO player, the copy-protection
signa appkd to some DVD programs could affect
picture quality. %f you stiii experience problems even
when you connect your player directly to your TV; please
try connecting your player to your TV's S YJDEO input
(page 47).
- The aspect ratio of the disc is fixed on your DVD.
0 The DVD player must be in standby mode to view
nictures from vour VCR.
