BATTERY
If the motorcycle is operated with insuf·
ficient battery electrolyte, sulfation and
battery plate damage will occur.
If
rapid
loss of electrolyte is experienced, Qr
if
your battery seems to be weak, causing
slow starting or other electrical problems,
see your authorized Honda dealer.
Battery Electrolyte
The battery (I) is under the seat. Remove
the left side cover to check the battery
electrolyte.
The electrolyte level must be maintained
between the upper (3) and lower (4) level
marks on the side of the battery.
If the electolyte level is low, remove the
filler caps (2). Carefully add distilled water
to the upper level mark using a small
syringe or plastic funnel.
NOTE:
• Use only distilled water in the battery.
Tap water may shorten the service life
of the battery.
CAUTION:
" When
checking
battery
electrolyte
level or adding distilled water, make
sure the breather tube
(5)
is connected
to the battery breather outlet.

battery contains sulfuric acid.
A void contact with skin, eyes or cloth·
ing. An...ridote: EXTERNAL-Flush with
water 'INTERNAL-Drink large quanti-
ties of water or milk. Fol/ow with milk
of magnesia, beaten egg or vegetable oil.
Cal/ physician immediately. Eyes: Flush
with water and get prompt medical
attention. Batteries produce explosive
gases. Keep sparks, flame, cigarettes
away. Ventilate when charging or using
in enclosed space. Always shield eyes
when working near batteries. KEEP
OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
CAUTION:
" The battery breather tube must be
routed as shown on the label. Do not
bend or twist the breather tube. A bent
or kinked breather tube may pressurize
the battery and dam ate its case.
