Joining Drill Chuck
& Arbor
An arbor is included for the drill chuck that
comes with this machine. The following procedure
describes how to install the arbor in the chuck.
After the arbor is installed in the drill chuck, it
is very difficult to separate the assembly. If you
would like to use a different chuck in the future,
we recommend obtaining a new arbor.
Important: DO NOT install the drill chuck and
arbor into the spindle until AFTER the test run.
To join the drill chuck and arbor:
1.
Use mineral spirits to clean drill chuck and
arbor mating surfaces, especially the bore.
2.
Retract chuck jaws completely into chuck.
3.
Insert small end of arbor into chuck.
4.
Hold assembly by arbor and tap chuck onto
a block of wood with medium force, as illus-
trated in Figure 17.

wood.
5.
Try to separate drill chuck and arbor by hand .
If you can pull them apart, repeat this proce-
dure.
