G. Appliance Break-In
Follow the initial break-in procedure below to cure the
materials used to manufacture the fi replace and the
fi nishing materials around it.
• The fireplace should be run three to four hours
continuously on high.
• Turn the fi replace off and allow it to cool completely.
• Remove fi xed glass assembly. See Section 4.B.
• Clean fi xed glass assembly. See Section 4.
• Replace the fi xed glass assembly and run continuously
on high an additional 12 hours.
Note: Some IPI systems have a safety feature that
automatically shuts down the fi replace after 9 hours of
continuous operation without receiving a command from
the remote control. If this occurs, restart the appliance.
NOTICE! Open windows for air circulation during fi re-
place break-in.
• Some people may be sensitive to smoke and odors.
• Smoke detectors may activate.
H. Heat Management
Heat Output
The fl ame on this model may be adjusted only if an RC-
400 remote control is installed.
If an optional fan is installed, the fan speed is controlled by
adjusting the speed control knob or using the command
on the remote control. If the rheostat included in the
optional fan kit is installed, turn the knob clockwise to
increase the fan speed and counterclockwise to decrease
the fan speed.
