Automatic braking interventions can be terminated by pressing the accelerator
or by moving the steering wheel.
Brake Support
If the driver brakes insufficiently to avoid an impending collision, the system
automatically increases the braking force.
The brake support only occurs as long as the brake pedal is being firmly press-
ed down.

The system should only be disabled in exceptional cases
Deactivation or activation of the system can be done in one of the following
ways.

The following functions can be activated or deactivated separately in the Info-
tainment.
Distance warning
Advance warning
If the distance warning was deactivated before switching off the ignition, this
remains deactivated after the ignition is switched back on.
WARNING
In the following situations, Front Assist should be switched off for safety
reasons.
When the vehicle is being towed away.
When the vehicle is on a rolling test bench.
If an unfounded warning or a system intervention took place.
When on a truck or a car ferry service or similar.

Sensor covered / dirty
If the sensor is dirty or covered, a message indicating that there is no sensor
view appears. Clean the sensor cover or remove the
page 120.
System unavailable
If the system is currently unavailable, a message concerning the unavailability
appears. Stop the vehicle, switch off the engine and then start it again. If the
system still is not available, seek the assistance of a specialist garage.

By selecting the driving mode, the driving behaviour can be adapted to the de-
sired mode of operation.
The following modes are available Comfort, Normal, Sport, Eco and Individual and Off-
road.
TheComfort is only on vehicles with adaptive chassis control (DCC) and the
mode Offroad available only on vehicles Octavia Scout.
