Chapter 13. Identifying problems with hardware that is configured for BIOS
Cause
Hard disk could Restart the Network Station; or,
not be configured replace the logic unit (see
or failed "Replacing the logic unit" on
page 9).
Video failed to Ensure that the monitor cable is
configure or video connected properly to the
failed test Network Station; or, swap
monitors and cables; or, replace
logic unit (see "Replacing the
logic unit" on page 9).
Mouse test failed Power off the Network Station,
and ensure that the mouse is
installed in the correct port (see
"Hardware layout" on page 4);
or, replace the mouse.
Boot sequence Restart the Network Station; or,
failed perform the procedure,
"Clearing CMOS" on page 24.
Note: Ethernet systems can
receive a beep and a 1962
configuration error if the system
is unable to boot from the
network. Restart the Network
Station, and watch for any error
codes or text messages that
display before the 1962 error
code. Perform any actions
indicated the error codes or text
messages.
PCI adapter failed Perform the procedure,
"Clearing CMOS" on page 24;
or, enter the BIOS setup utility
and ensure that you configured
the PCI device correctly. If the
problem continues, replace the
PCI adapter.
