Tips
• Children, who are more than 6 years old, should
be scanned with an adult protocol as the skull by this
time is fully grown.
• When bone structure is of interest, use kernel C60s
for image reconstruction.
• Posterior Fossa Optimization Filter
PFO: To reduce beam-hardening artifacts in head
images, particularly in the base of the skull, use the
Posterior Fossa Optimization (PFO) filter.
