Cause & solution
L Move the handset and the base unit away from other
electrical appliances.
L Move closer to the base unit.
L Raise the base unit antenna.
L Turn on the clarity booster feature (page 18).
L Your unit is connected to a telephone line with ADSL
(JetStream) service. We recommend that you contact
your ADSL service provider to have an ADSL Splitter
installed. We do not recommend the use of generic
ADSL filters. Contact your ADSL provider for details.
L The ringer volume is turned off. Adjust it (page 28).
L Dial lock is turned on. To turn it off, see page 31.
L If the above remedies do not solve the problem, set the
dialling mode. Press {MENU} {0} {5} {1} {Save}
{OFF}.
L The unit is not designed to be used with rotary (pulse
dialling) services.
L If the last number dialled was more than 48 digits long,
the number will not be redialled correctly.
L If you press {REDIAL} after you have started dialling,
this button functions as the {PAUSE} button. To redial,
do not dial any numbers before pressing {REDIAL}.
L Dial lock is turned on. To turn it off, see page 31.
L Make sure that an optional headset is connected
properly (page 34).
L If "SP-phone" is displayed on the handset, press {C}
to switch to the headset.
L Use only the Panasonic KX-TCA88AL headset.
L The called handset is too far from the base unit.
L The called handset is in use. Try again later.
Cause & solution
L You cannot store an item in the phonebook while the
handset is in talk or speakerphone mode.
L Do not pause for over 1 minute while storing.
L Dial lock is turned on. To turn it off, see page 31.
L A call is being received. Answer the call and start again
from the beginning after hanging up.
