TROUBLESHOOTING
Faults
Engine does not speed up.
Engine has too little power.
Engine stalls or is popping into the carbu-
retor
Engine overheats.
High oil consumption
Battery discharged
Possible cause
Carburetor running over because float
needle dirty or worn
Loose carburetor jets
Electronic ignition adjustment defective
Fuel feed interrupted
Air filter very dirty
Exhaust system leaky, deformed or too lit-
tle glass fiber yarn filling in main silencer
Valve clearance too little
Electronic ignition adjustment defective
Lack of fuel
Engine takes in bad air
Too little coolant in cooling system
Too little air stream
Radiator fins very dirty
Foam formation in cooling system
Bent radiator hose
Engine vent hose bent
Engine oil level too high
Engine oil too thin (low viscosity)
Battery is not charged by generator
Measure
Have carburetor checked.
Have carburetor checked.
Have ignition system checked.
Check the fuel tank breather.
Clean fuel tap.
Clean carburetor.
