System KSUs

There are three types of KSUs:
9 1/2" base KSU-B
9 1/2" expansion KSU-E
19" KSU-A
The first KSU (the Controlling KSU-B with CCPU) provides 3 slots and a power supply. One slot in the first KSU
(Controlling KSU) is used for the CCPU. Each expansion KSU (KSU-E) provides 3 slots. In a networked system
using CygniLink and an IP connection, a second CCPU can be used for a CCPU Fail-Over feature (primary/
secondary CPUs) as a backup in case of a hardware or power failure. (The CCPUs must be programmed for
primary/secondary operation.)
To expand the system further, additional KSU(s) can be added. Each KSU-B can be combined with an
expansion KSU (KSU-E) - the KSU-B providing the power to the expansion KSU. A KSU-B or combined KSU-B
/ KSU-Es can be added. These KSUs are then interconnected, for a maximum of 4 combined hard-wired KSU-
Bs and 4 KSU-Es.
In place of combining a KSU-B and KSU-E to make a 19" cabinet, you can use the 19" KSU-A cabinet. This
cabinet provides 6 slots and a power supply. The first slot in the KSU is used for the CCPU. The remaining slots
can be used for the various system PCBs required.
Up to 4 combined KSU-B/KSU-E cabinets or 19" KSU-A cabinets can be connected locally.
However, in order to reach the system's maximum port capacity, additional KSU (either
combined KSU-B / KSU-Es or the 19" KSU-A) must be added - connected by a VoIP
connection.
