    UX5000 IP Phone Manager NSTALLATION ECTION Follow these steps for installation of the IP Phone Manager. 1. Double-click the Setup.exe file to initiate the installation. 2. Select the language to be used and click OK . 3. Microsoft .NET Framework is required. If not already installed, the window will prompt to install the application.

    UX5000 IP Phone Manager CREEN ECTION Upon opening the IP Phone Manager application, the following screen is displayed. Figure 1-3 Main Screen Toolbar Features 1. Search – Sets the frequency and timing that IP Phone Manager will attempt to search and discover IP terminals on the network.

    UX5000 IP Phone Manager 2. Direct When an IP address of the terminal is known, it is possible to search for it independently. This is commonly used to for a quick search of a specific terminal or a terminal that may be in a different network or subnet.

    UX5000 IP Phone Manager 3. Import PBX system configuration applications may offer the ability to export a list of registered terminals in a CSV file format. This CSV file can be imported to the IP Phone Manager application. This import can be used to Search and Connect the registered terminals indicated in the imported file.

    UX5000 IP Phone Manager Terminal Connection After terminals have been discovered by the IP Phone Manager Search functionality, they must be connected before any action can take place. For terminals which need to have data modified, select the check box next to the desired terminal on the main screen and press Connect .

This selection determines whether a selected command is sent immediately, regardless of the idle/busy status of a terminal, or only once the terminal is idle.

    UX5000 IP Phone Manager Selecting the Send Until Successful option for a command will check the status of the terminal prior to performing the command. If the terminal is busy, the command will be held in reserve and performed only once the terminal is idle. The status is then displayed as “Transmit OK”.

    UX5000 IP Phone Manager SwitchPortCtrl Switch Port Control can enable or disable the PC Port on the connected IP terminal(s). Click on the check box(es) for the terminal(s), select the SwitchPortCtrl option from the Command drop-down list, and click the Execute button.

    UX5000 IP Phone Manager Reset The Reset function will reset the terminal(s) to which the IP Phone Manager is connected. There are two options for resetting the connected terminal(s): Soft Reset – Application layer of the terminal Hard Reset – Full hardware initialization of the terminal Click on the check box for the terminal(s), select the Reset option from the Command drop-down list, and click the Execute button.

If a status of “Reset N/A” is displayed, the terminal is busy and the reset is not performed and should be attempted again after the terminal has had a chance to finish.

    UX5000 IP Phone Manager SecurityLock The SecurityLock feature can lock or unlock the connected terminal(s). This option is not available for the 2-Button or 6-Button IP Value terminals as these terminals do not have the Lock button. There are two modes in the SecurityLock feature: 1.

If a status of “Lock N/A” is displayed, the terminal is busy and the lock is not performed and should be attempted again after the terminal has had a chance to finish.

    UX5000 IP Phone Manager Data Reset Data Reset will erase the configuration stored in terminal memory. There are three terminal memory locations that can be reset. IP Phone Settings – Terminal Configuration Data that is set in terminal programming under the Config menu tree (IP address, port number, etc.).

If an “Error” status is displayed, reconnect the terminal(s) as the connection may have been lost. If a status of “Clear N/A” is displayed, the terminal is busy and the command is not performed and should be attempted again after the terminal has had a chance to finish.

    UX5000 IP Phone Manager Download The download feature is used to download various file types via a FTP/TFTP server. Select the server type to be used for downloads and the parameters that are required (IP Address of server, authentication name and passwords).

To perform additional actions for these terminals you must reconnect to the terminals by clicking on the Connect button on the main page as the terminals are reset and the connection is dropped.

Additional information on the above Input File Types can be found in the UX5000 IP Terminal Data Maintenance Tool manual. 2. Use the Simultaneous Downloads to select the quantity of terminals (1-8) that will access and attempt downloads at the same time.

    UX5000 IP Phone Manager Command Transmit: Select the Command Transmit to use (Send Once, Immediately or Send Until Successful - see page 1-14). Send Until Successful will send the command until a terminal is free and accepts the command. Send Once, Immediately will send the command once and if the terminal is busy, the command is not processed.

    UX5000 IP Phone Manager The details of the default (fixed) entries cannot be modified, however, new terminal entries created with the Edit button will permit the entry to be modified. The following screen provides a sample of the Download Boot & Program option.

    UX5000 IP Phone Manager Backup & Restore Backup and Restore functionality allows terminal data to send or receive from a network server. Data Backup is used to copy the current terminal data and configuration to a FTP/TFTP server for archiving. File names for the restored data can be saved as the terminals MAC address, IP Address or Extension number for easy user management.

Once the download has completed, the status changes to “Complete”. If an “Error” status is displayed, reconnect the terminal(s) as the connection may have been lost.

    UX5000 IP Phone Manager Error Log Error Log information is a useful tool that can be used by developers for troubleshooting purposes. Terminal log information will back up to a FTP/ TFTP server and is saved under the terminal MAC Address, IP Address or Extension number of the selected terminal(s).
