    Chapter 1 - WL1700 Setup Installation Overview ECTION In order to keep the initial setup easy, you may wish to keep the network scaled to a maximum number of 100 MH240 handsets. Some manual modification of the initial configuration is required in order to adjust the IP addressing to the customer’s network.

    Verify with the network administrator to be sure there are no DCHP server conflicts. Access programming for the UX5000. In the example below, WebPro access is used as the example. Using Internet Explorer 6 or later, access WebPro (by default, the IP address is 172.16.0.10). Configure the internal DHCP server.

    ECTION 1.6.1 Confirm the System is Running When the UX5000 setup is done, the internal access point (WL1700-MS) and WL1500-AP-A access points should connect to the UX5000 and start functioning. (The WL1700-MS and WL1500-AP-A require PoE for power.) Note: The assigned IP addresses must allow all devices (WL1700, WL1500, UX5000, TFTP server) to be on the same network (ex: 172.16.xxx.xxx with a subnet mask of 255.255.0.0).

    For further information on either method, refer to the MH240 Wireless IP Telephone Setup Guide (handset programming) or the IP Phone Manager for MH240 Operation Manual. Both manuals are available on the NEC technical support site (http://www.necux5000.com). 2.1.1.1 Power on the MH240 Press and hold the MENU key for 2 seconds or more.
