Troubleshooting the Spray System

Problem
A boom section does not spray.
A boom section does not turn off.
A boom valve is leaking
The pressure drops when you turn
on a boom.

Possible Causes
1. The electrical connection on
the boom valve is dirty or
disconnected.
2. A fuse is blown.
3. A hose is pinched.
4. A boom bypass valve is
improperly adjusted.
5. A boom valve is damaged.
6. The electrical system is
damaged.

1. An O-ring has deteriorated.

improperly adjusted.
2. There is an obstruction in the
boom valve body.

Corrective Action
1. Turn the valve off manually,
disconnect the electrical
connector on the valve, clean
all leads, then connect the
electrical connector.
2. Check the fuses and replace
them as necessary.
3. Repair or replace the hose.
4. Adjust the boom bypass valves.

pump, turn off the sprayer,
remove the retainer from under
the boom valve, pull out the
motor and stem, inspect all
parts, and replace any that are
damaged.

out the system, disassemble
the valve, and replace the
O-rings.

2. Remove the inlet and outlet
connections to the boom valve
